Chiaki studied with Yuriko Iwamura and Sueko Matida, who graduated from the Musashino Music School in Japan.

Books studied include J.S. Bach Klavierbuchlein Fur Anna Magdalena, Beethoven Sonata Volumes 1 & 2, Burgmuller Twenty-Five Pieces, Chopin Nocturn, Chopin Polonaise, Czerny Etudes #30 & 40, Hanon the Virtuoso Pianist, Mozart Sonata Volume 1 & 2, Sonatinen Album, and Sonata Album.

Along with extensive experience as an accompanist for vocal, piccolo, and flute soloists, Chiaki has taught all levels of students, from age 3 to adult.
