Audition Instructions

Every auditioner will be asked to sing the tenor harmony line from the “Go The Distance Chorale” PLUS your choice of one of the three Audition Song Selections listed on this page.

Go The Distance Chorale

Go The Distance Chorale vocals — You’ll sing the tenor line against these vocals at the audition. We will have copies of the vocal score available at the audition, and you may read from the score during the audition if you like.
Go The Distance Chorale practice track — This track includes a piano overlay of the tenor line for at-home practice.

Audition Song Selections

Choose one of the 3 songs listed below for your audition piece. The audition tracks, practice tracks, and vocal scores are included below. Please memorize your song selection for the audition.

1) Evil Like Me

Evil Like Me audition cut backing track (you’ll sing with this track at the audition). Sing the top line throughout the audition regardless of which character is singing on the guide track. Sing the high G (top note) as your final note.

2) Ways to Be Wicked

Ways to Be Wicked audition cut backing track (you’ll sing with this track at the audition). Sing all lines shown in the score regardless of which character(s) are singing on the guide track.

3) Did I Mention

Did I Mention audition cut backing track (you’ll sing with this track at the audition). Sing Ben’s line as shown in the score below. Don’t sing any of the ensemble parts that you’ll hear in the guide track. Please riff on the final note, as you’ll hear in the guide vocals.
