Lesson Policies

2019 Summer Lesson Policy

The 2019 Summer Semester begins Monday, June 24 and ends Friday, August 30. There are no lessons Thursday, July 4.

Sign up only for the lessons you want. You may cancel a summer lesson, but 24 hours’ notice is required or you will be charged. All lesson cancellations must be done through your TeacherZone account, at the store counter, or by phone.

If you do not appear for a scheduled lesson and Elefante Music was not notified, you will be marked “no-show.” No-show lessons are billable and are not eligible for a make-up or refund.

If a teacher is absent and no substitute is available, Elefante Music will credit your account. In the event of store closing due to inclement weather or other event, Elefante Music will credit your account.

For new students who sign up over the summer, we will make every effort to accommodate your time and teacher request for the upcoming School Year. However, students who were on the schedule at the end of the prior School Year are given first choice of retaining their time slot again in September.

Summer Lesson Payments and Fees

Lessons are $40/half hour and are scheduled in 30 minute increments. You must provide a credit card when signing up for lessons. Summer lessons must be paid before attendance. You may opt to pay for the summer in advance or sign up for an automatic billing plan using a credit card. See an Elefante associate for complete details.

A one-time $25 registration fee applies to new students and will be charged upon review of your records at Elefante Music. Families who have previously paid this registration fee for another class or private lessons, including for a different student, are exempt. If applicable to your account, payment will be processed separately.

2019 – 2020 School Year Lesson Policies

Once you are signed up for a lesson time, that remains your time until you inform us that you wish to change or discontinue. We must be notified that you wish to discontinue at least 24 hours before your next lesson, or you will be charged for that lesson.

Elefante Music utilizes Teacher Zone for scheduling and payments.

Cancellation policy

If you miss a lesson you must still pay for it. All lesson cancellations must be done before the lesson through your TeacherZone account, at the store counter, or by phone. The teacher is not responsible for lesson scheduling or for communicating your schedule changes to the front desk.

If you do not appear for a scheduled lesson and Elefante Music was not notified, you will be marked “no-show.” No-show lessons are billable and are not eligible for a make-up or refund.

Make-up lessons are not guaranteed. To qualify for a make-up lesson:
· You must give 24 hours’ notice of your absence
· You must be a current student
· Your account must not have a balance
· The make-up must be scheduled within the school year (not the summer or the next school year)
We will do our best to find a make-up for qualified absences. However, make-up lessons are dependent on the schedule of the teacher and are not guaranteed.
If a teacher is absent and no substitute is available, Elefante Music will credit your account. In the event of store closing due to inclement weather or other event, Elefante Music will credit your account.
