Elefante Music and School for the Performing Arts maintains a high standard of educational excellence. As such, we require that all students in our school facilities and/or attending lessons, classes, camps, or similar activities read and adhere to our Code of Conduct and Core Values listed below:
CODE OF CONDUCT
Elefante Music & School for the Performing Arts requires that all students comply with our Code of Conduct. We reserve the right to remove from lessons, classes, camps, or similar activities any student who does not comply with the Code of Conduct and/or presents a substantial disruption to the delivery of instruction or to the educational environment.
To comply with the Code of Conduct, all students will agree to:
— Create a safe space free from bullying, name-calling, or discrimination.
— Show respect for and maintain a positive attitude toward classmates and instructor(s) at all times.
— Comport themselves according to instructor rules of safety, attention, and behavior.
— Act with honesty and personal integrity.
— Refrain from handling items or equipment in the classroom, according to instructor rules.
— Share ideas with others, accept the ideas of others, and work as a team.
— Use appropriate language.
— Refrain from any form of verbal and/or physical altercations.
— Respect the personal space and physical boundaries of others.
— Meet attendance and punctuality expectations.
— Refrain from use of electronic devices during class time.
— Refrain from any social media/posting of classmates or class activities.
— Fully disallow any illegal substances such as alcohol or narcotics.
CORE VALUES
Kindness
We ask all students, regardless of age, talent or ability, to respond first with kindness to teachers and their fellow students. Lead, learn, and perform from the heart.
Humility
Be proud of your accomplishments and support and cheer on the accomplishments of others. Everyone benefits when everyone does well.
Safety
This is a place to learn, grow, and try new things. If your behavior makes it feel less safe for anyone (either physically or emotionally), you will be asked to leave.
Respect
Respect has to be earned. Respect the work. Respect the space. Respect other people. Respect Yourself.
Bravery
You are the only you on the planet. Love yourself and put yourself out there! Be brave in your choices and bold in your performances.
Openness
You will never get anywhere if you build walls around yourself. Be open to what the class, the teacher, and the other students have to offer. Take a risk and try something new — we’ll catch you.
Striving
Students who continually refuse to participate or are habitually absent or tardy with no notice may be asked to leave. Everyone’s time is valuable, including that of our teachers and your fellow students, so don’t waste it by not giving it your all. We are here to work and have fun, but to do that you have to “dive in!”
Listening
Everyone’s ideas and thoughts have a place here, and will be heard equally. You can disagree with someone, but arguing or belittling someone will not be tolerated.
Gratitude
How lucky you are that you get to sing, dance, act, play an instrument, and perform. Be thankful for the people who support you and who are helping you do what you love.
